The Pinetum Guest Book

We encourage visitors to our log cabin or to the Pinetum Lodge to write down what they have experienced over their stay. Most guests, as you can read below, enjoy their time here, but we also need to know where improvements can be made. With this in mind please take the time to fill in your comment in the Guest book provided.

The Cedar Barn

We stayed in the cedar barn with our dog for 3 nights and couldn't have asked for a better stay. I had originally booked the cabin, but due to weather conditions we were moved into the cedar barn. Both properties equipped with bathroom, lounge, kitchen and bedroom, it has everything you need. It is such a lovely place to stay and in the middle of the woods was so tranquil, with paths through the woods for long walks. Great for dogs as our dog loved running around freely in the snow. David was a lovely and welcoming host and helped push my car through the snow at the top of the drive. Hopefully will be returning and will be highly recommended to others.

Perfect cosy place

We stayed in the cabin for three nights in May 2017 with 2 dogs. I cannot fault our stay. The cabin is very cosy, plenty of heaters if cold. A well equipped kitchen, everything you need, including a full size cooker and microwave. A great bath with shower for the small space, plenty of hot water. The deck is a lovely place to sit, you feel you are in the tree canopy due to the location of the cabin in the woods. Plenty of walks from the cabin, but once off the property into the RSPB woodland dogs need to be under control, but the walks are worth it. David suggested 2 pubs, ring ahead to book as they are popular but worth the effort. A great farm shop at Over just down the road towards Gloucester. We hope to make a return visit.

Pinetum Lodge is a house full of historical character and warmth. Perfect place for a big family gathering as there is a well equipped country kitchen (with aga) and a large family room with two wood burning fire places (we took full advantage of both). Add to that plenty of bathrooms and you have the recipe for a stress free vacation. Gardens are absolutely spectacular with help to Sue. Hosts extremely thoughtful (Carol and David) and were willing to do whatever it took to make us have a good stay. Best suited to those who enjoy very peaceful location (buried in beautiful woods) and really appreciate a house that feels like a home (as opposed to fussy, fancy hotel style with perfect everything). It was hard to want to leave here - lots of good memories of a lovely time with family in magical surrounds. We had two 6 year olds, a toddler and a baby with us. David put cover on the outside pool for us which was a good idea for the little ones who were curious about the pool. Lots of very nice belongings in the home so best suited for families with kids who are well behaved/well supervised. Possible to walk for miles from the house and wander through beautiful countryside with plenty of bird songs and butterflies.

What can we say, beautiful cabin in the woods, beautiful surroundings. Totally relaxing weekend for John, myself and Bella the dog.

Had an amazing time, now back to the hustle and bustle of normal life.

Will definitely come back. Lots of love,

A fantastical secluded and cosy stay, we couldn't have pictured a more perfect setting for New Years Eve 2013. A very thorough tour from David kicked off our stay and his recommendation of The Farmer' Boy Inn was on the money - a great venue and delicious food.

Lots of local attractions and sights helped make this stay magical - we will return!

Happy New Year!

Thank you for an amazing stay in your beautiful cabin. Its much better than expected. The cabin is done to a very high standard and had everything needed. These 3 nights have been something we have wanted to do for a longtime and doing it here with these surroundings has been perfect! Just hoped we could have used the terrace - Maybe in the Summer. Thank you David for your help and this wonderful Experience.

Wow! What a amazing time we're had here at the cabin. No need to stray too far - We found brilliant places almost on the doorstep. Favourites include a lovely riverside walk at Minsterworth, Frampton on Severn, Stunning views from the top of Robinswood Hill overlooking Gloucester and the beautiful gardens at Westbury Court Water Gardens. Marvelous 'pilgrimage' to Slad to see the home of Laurie Lee where the local serves great food and the walks were beautiful, Don't miss the Historic Dock area of Gloucester.

A great place to stay, very comfortable - We'll be back!!

Lovely Stay! The first time we have ever gone away + stayed in such an isolated spot. We really enjoyed it. So quiet!!

The Cabin is lovely - Very clean & tidy. We enjoyed Warick Castle - Spent all day there + the town centre is lovely!

Barton on the water also fantastic - Try the maze!! Great fun.

Thanks for the lovely stay.
